Today’s little slice
of “happitude” is...
Family night dinner with my best big brother in
the world and my own special mini version of ice cream and Bar-One sauce...
Kofi and I have been friends since we were about
12 years old. He is one of the very few men in my life who will never break my
heart. He and I are as close as family which is why I always refer to him as my
big brother and he always refers to me as his little sister.
We don’t get to see much of one another these
days with work and other commitments getting in the way but every once in a
while we pencil in some time for a meal and a proper catch-up together.
These get-togethers are very special for me
because each time we have one I’m reminded of how lucky I am to have a friend
who I’ve known for so long and who I’ve never grown apart from. That’s a real
blessing in today’s throw-away society, and a real testimony to the idea that
if you take care of things, they last.
