Today’s little slice
of “happitude” is...
An afternoon of healing with a good friend and
her gorgeous munchkins...
Day 1 of flying solo was tough. But my dear
friend, Claudette, knew just how to cheer me up. An afternoon of tea and scones
with Claudette and her two gorgeous children was just what I needed to put a
smile on my face (even if only for a little while).
I love little children. I think the fact that
they’re so honest and that they tend to be very serious about the things they
say to people despite the fact that they’re too adorable to be taken seriously
is what makes me so interested in spending time around them.
I also love how they can tell when a grown-up is
sad and the way that they suggest the simplest little things to try and make it
better. For instance, Princess Emily Cinderella (Emily’s preferred name) thought
I needed princess accessories more than she did and had me wear her tiara and
necklace so that I’d feel like a princess and not feel sad anymore.
I looked like a bit of an idiot (much to
Claudette’s amusement) but funnily enough, I actually did feel better. That is
the story of how I survived Day 1 and how Princess Emily Cinderella helped me
rediscover my inner child for an afternoon. Bless her little heart!
