#365grateful Post 20

Today’s little slice of “happitude” is...

An incredible wine tasting at Simonsig and Uitkyk wine farms, a yummy lunch and drinks at the Thirsty Scarecrow and deep-fried Oreos and ice-cream for dessert... A good food day indeed!

The great thing about visiting Stellenbosch is that there are tons of incredible wine farms to visit there. If ever you have the opportunity, be sure to visit Simonsig and Uitkyk wine farms. Delicious wines, reasonably priced wine tastings and the most beautiful scenery make for an unforgettable experience. If possible, hire a taxi to drive you around if you’re planning to do a few wine tastings in one day... I don’t know what it is about those tiny taste-testers but they sure do get you boozed. It is rather fabulous (giggles).

After two fabulous wine tastings, the four of us drove out to The Thirsty Scarecrow for lunch. Delicious pizza, (a few) more Kopparberg ciders and yummy deep friend Oreos and ice cream were on the menu.
One word of warning about the Thirsty Scarecrow: if you don’t manage to finish your pizza and you request a take-away box, just know that the sneaky buggers will more than likely knick a few pieces of your leftovers!
On the upside, this lovely little establishment is conveniently situated next to a farm stall of sorts which sells great quality wines at a fraction of the cost. So, after lunch we stocked up on some more wine for the week and headed home for a much needed nap!

Day 3 in Stellies was a winning good food day indeed!
